Our Story
How Barzaari began
Barzaari Restaurant opened in 2016 on Addison Road, Marrickville, with a simple conviction: that the communal, generous spirit of Eastern Mediterranean cooking belonged in Sydney. Barzaari draws on the food traditions of Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt, combining authentic regional flavours with contemporary cooking techniques and a relaxed neighbourhood feel.
Barzaari is family-run, and that shows in the way the restaurant operates. Every dish is made to be shared. The portions are generous. The welcome is genuine. Barzaari is the kind of place where the table fills slowly, the conversation runs long and the food keeps arriving long after you thought you were done.
Since 2016, Barzaari Restaurant has become a fixture on Addison Road, a place where Marrickville locals return again and again, and where first-time visitors quickly understand why.
